I wrote home for a new pair of jeans. I also called home.

They are going to cut down on our working hours. I don't know how much, but I'm sure glad they're doing it. It means I'll be having to make all the armor runs, which is a lot of work, but I need it. I've rebuilt 10 M-16 and 6-12 gauge shotguns that work perfect. One or tow had some bugs in them, but they are working perfect now. We were really hurting for shotguns until I got those fixed. I've been writing letters all day.

Our new commander came by the armory today. i wasn't there they said he didn't like a lot of things about it. I guess we will be doing a lot of extra work for awhile. Every time a new guy comes in, he's got some new ideas. Most of them never get done, because we don't do it,. We mess around a lot to get out of it.

They hired a new guy for the day shift called summer. he seems like a nice guy. Won't really know until we start working with him.

I met a Korean today who killed a North Vietnam Army Officer. He had taken from the man a medal, picture of Ho Chi Men and a picture of the man's family. I really felt sorry for the NVA family. I know how my family would feel if I were killed. War isn't very happy is it. Too bad everyone can't just live together. That's what war is no one can. I don't think I will return opposing the war. It hasn't really made me think too much about it. I guess the next 4 months will tell, but right now I feel the same way I felt about it before I left. And, that's not all about war. I have had a lot of fun and learn all about reality. I've got the most rank in the armory now, plus I leave next. We're remodeling the armory again. Sure is a lot of work. This place gets more like a slave camp every day. I'm combat trained now. After being over here, I've leaned just aim at a goal and do it.

After I leave here everything should be a lot easier to face. I have had a lot of fun and have many wonderful friends. My family has been my greatest support. Your many letters, and I've got the greatest people in the world to call my family.

We had a Mormon USO show that came to our base, and they were really good. I've got a goal in life now. That's to be married in the temple.

We really worked today, we made three trips to MMS to pick up .50 cal and 40 mm ammo that fifty cal is really a job unloading.

I got to see what a AK47 looked liked. There hasn't been a whole lot happening. Our new boss is in some trouble. He has had some of the guys on swing shift steal some wood. They got caught, could lose a stripe.

We will be painting the armory green sometime in the next few weeks. Our boss said after we got it all done we we wouldn't have to work as hard from then on.

We started painting the armory today. One of the guys quit today. It wasn't his fault as far as I was concerned. His team leader's mostly. He's happy he's out, but I don't like the way he was treated, but I would have done the same thing.
